Morning at Tossa de Mar

Chapman's Peak Spanish Style! A winding, hilly coastal road through the mixed woodland with spectacular views of the Med.

On arrival at Tossa de Mar we walked up to the castle, Alfie was more interested in the pigeons than the views.

Golf at Club Golf D'Aro

Managed 18 holes on a Par 3 course starting at 17h00.
Up on the ridge above Robin and Wendy's house - Stunning views.

I lost by miles. Pretty close between R & W.

Coincidentally Wendy and I were wearing the same shirts!

Viva Espana!

Scenic walk along the sandy path next to the beach with Robin & Wendy and their black labrador Alfie.

Old fishermens' cottages now used as holiday homes

Lunch in a car wash?

Drakensburg CAPSA 2011 Conference

A hectic week spent helping at the conference. Learnt a lot about the complexities of road and airport tarmac building whilst manning the microphones. No time to take photos!
Playing golf tomorrow at Champagne Sports and then driving back to Pretoria to leave again the following day for a weekend at Zebula with Peter's family.

The Whale Trail

An amazing hike despite less than perfect weather. What a great time of the year to go as the flowers were magnificent and the whales abundant.

We walked for 5 days and slept in cottages each night. We didn't see another person apart from the Whale Trail staff, no vehicles, no TVs, no other houses - heaven. We couldn't charge our cellphones and in any case signals were poor almost everywhere. We were 11 ladies and 1 guy and the trail is so popular it has to be booked a year in advance.

The hiking cottages were well equipped and 3 of them are on the
ocean's edge.

Sleeping in the top bunk was a bit tricky at my age, especially with the low beams under the thatch.

We had an interesting trip on the ferry at Malgas on the way to Potberg.

The second day was very wet and Gayle was freezing when we arrived at Noetsie hut.
